$20 a Month Grocery Budget

I am attempting to live on $20 a month grocery budget for as long as possible.   Impossible you say? Perhaps.  There are only 2 of us, we have access to the food pantry if needed, and we have a chest freezer and an upright freezer full of food, part of my challenge is to empty the chest freezer to save on electric bill as well.

I will record my challenge, and whether we end up spending more (we have slightly more available to us in summer due to increased side jobs).  I will record what is bought, how much is spent, what meals I came up with and what I paid for items at the time if I remember (though if i use from my stockpile they are “free” to me right now).

I’m going to try this for at least 2 years in an attempt to pay off a small amount of debt and also build up savings to avoid getting into more debt.   Making more money or cutting expenses, other than this, is not looking viable presently.  I’m following Dave Ramsey’s baby steps, though not 100% in order.
