49th Annual Christmas Parade
Sunday, Nov. 20 – 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

The 49th annual Christmas Parade will be held Sunday, November 20, 2011 starting at 4:00p.m. The Christmas Parade will start at Main Street and Whiterock Avenue and proceed west on Main Street to West Avenue where it will turn left and continue to Wisconsin Avenue. The parade will turn left onto Wisconsin Avenue and will end at Cutler Park. There will be over 90 units in the Christmas Parade. The theme for this year’s parade is “Candy Canes on Main.” A special appearance from Santa too!

Kids, bring your letters to Santa and give them to the mail carriers at the start of the Parade or to Santa’s Elves at the end. Be sure to include your name and address to receive a return note from Santa.

Come early and enjoy the Downtown festivities beginning at noon.

Come visit the Museum! Watch the Waukesha Christmas Parade from our front yard! Enjoy free hot chocolate and popcorn before the parade. Create a ‘Gingerbread Boy’ or ‘Gingerbread Girl’ at our craft station. Admission and activities are free today!

Christmas Tree Lighting
Friday, Nov. 18 – 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Join in for this Christmas season kick-off event. Music will be provided by the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble. Caroling will be led by the Waukesha Choral Union. There will be a tree lighting countdown by Mayor Jeff Scrima. A seasonal message by Pastor Geoff Cravillion from Waukesha First Assembly of God. The Salvation Army will be accepting non-perishable food donations for their food pantry as well as cash contributions. This event will be the kick-off for the Salvation Army’s 2011 red kettle campaign. Free hot chocolate will be provided by the Waukesha Downtown Business Association and The Steaming Cup. The event is sponsored by K-Love 105.3 FM and Big Buck Counrtry 106.9 FM.

Oh what a great night we will have at Beading Hearts!!!!! Bring in any full skeins of yarn that you would like to swap out with someone elses, or trade them in on Michele Steinbackers stash kits. Stay and knit, crochet or bead for the night, or…..if you are really adventourus…..play the “Last Knitter Standing” game. There will be a prize for the winners this time! You can bring BYOB and muchies will be provided.
