2012 Church Rummage List

I am creating this list of church sales because my mom and I are big fans of going to them.  They sometimes have useful things like clothes for really cheap and most churches will let you try on in the bathrooms before buying.  I found brand new 100% peaches and cream cotton yarn skeins for $1 at St. Paul in Meno Falls rummage recently! This is a great price on that.  I will try to remember to add my own comments to these after I go to them.

4/16/12 (Saturday)
St. Boniface Annual Rummage & Bake Sale
W204 N11940 Goldendare Rd.
Germantown
This rummage had a lot of stuff at great prices.  Hardcover books 25 cents, softcover books 2 for 25 cents, magazines 5 for 25 cents.  I got a huge bag full of embroidery floss for 50 cents and a walker with a seat for $10 (these walkers are $60 and up in stores).  Should come in handy when I am on vacation and my family wants to take a longer walk than I can handle otherwise.  The Express News had a $1 off purchase coupon good til 12:30 with the info all on it.  Bag sale starting 12:30.  I do not see information on here how much the bag sale is. I will be going back to this one next year!  This was a fairly large sale with books, magazines, movies, kitchen/household stuff, telephones, furniture and all was priced very cheap. They had a nice desk for $2 that I was tempted to buy.

  • Thursday April 26th 8 – 6.  shoppers paradise
  • Friday April 27th 8 – 6.  Everything Half price
  • Saturday April 28th 8 – 2.  Fill  a Bag for 5 dollars and take home treasures galore!Personal note: This St. Williams sale is one of the best sales in my opinion to get clothing.  They usually have quite a bit to pick from, on Thursday morning anyway.  This year clothing was 50 cents general, shoes $1, purses $3 unless marked but many were marked $1 or $2…coats and sweaters $3…can’t remember if jeans/pants were $2 or $3.   Clothing for 50 cents is about as cheap as you can get I think and the $2 and $3 for other stuff is quite reasonable.
Dvd movies were $2 as were playstation 2 and xbox games also $2 each.  Music cd’s were $1.  I think this is really cheap prices on t hese things from what I’vee seen at other sales.
Hardcover books $1, paperback 50 cents, magazines 10 cents.  I bought some cooking magazines and 2 church cookbooks.  Prices on these are about consistent with what I seem to see other rummages.
Sheets were $3 for top sheet, $3 for bottom sheet, 50 cents each for pillow cases so $7 for a set.  None of them were tied together like typically seen at rummage sales so some of the stuff was bought when we got there but not whole sets.
They also had several tv’s and cd players that all if not most of them worked.  They had all the tv’s on at the sale so you could see they worked.  They were various prices and models of those items.

5/10/12 – 5/13/12
8:00am-5:00pm

This sounds like a community wide rummage of sorts.  No specific address given.

I was just at St. Joe’s church’s rummage sale. I heard one of the ladies there say that this was the least amount of stuff that they had left. She thought that they sold more than usual. I think that you may have encouraged someone to come other than me.
I found me two new pants. I don’t need to buy anymore pants. I still need to get one himmed (bought at Target) but the used one’s are just my size if I wear shoes. Thanks for posting this.

I went to this also today and I did find a vacuum I needed, but didn’t think there was that much stuff I was interested in. We went first thing in the morning. But I am happy to get more people going to the sales too. Didn’t find many clothes in my size, they seemed to have mostly medium women’s clothes. I didn’t look super careful either, though.

i did like that they seemed to make an effort to be accesisble to handicapped. As in having a ramp to get in and having it on one level. I have trouble with stairs and it is a peeve of mine when places have a church sale on 2 levels of a building with no elevator.

I realize it’s past, but St. Mary’s has a rummage sale every year, usually the weekend after Father’s Day. On the last day (Sunday), they have half price and fill-a-bag day. I got a bag full of stuff for $2 plus 17 canning jars for $1.50!
