My family and I tend to go to this every year. Retzer Nature Center, S14 W28167 Madison St., Waukesha, WI 53188-9501 will be holding their 25th Annual Apple Harvest on Saturday, September 17th from 9 to 5 PM. There is always many crafts for the kids, a hay ride, a scarecrow contest to look at the entries which is in a wheelchair accessible area, vendors are also in an accessible area. The rest is not as accessible. One of our favorites in the vendor area is a the apple tent. There are always about 100 different varieties to choose from and you can buy by the apple, or buy the 1/4 bushel, 1/2 bushel, etc. We always buy a couple of types, as many do keep a fair amount of time. Some don’t keep as well as others, but they always have some neat types. Cost is quite cheap at $5 per car load. (The parking lot isn’t very wheelchair accessible though, rolling grassy hills, so I wonder if for accessibility they have some other parking spots.) They also have shows going on at the planetarium there too.
